On Wednesday, 4 December 2013, in the afternoon at 16:24, in Vilnius, on Gedimino pr., at the junction with Gynėjų street, a BMW 316 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 78-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet.
