On Tuesday, 9 July 2024, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Vilnius, on Gedimino pr. near No. 49A, at the junction with Gynėjų street, a Honda Accord hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Honda (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
