On Tuesday, 17 December 2013, in the evening at 19:21, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 23.30), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Terrano and a Volkswagen Touareg. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Nissan (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
