On Friday, 20 December 2013, in the evening at 18:45, in Kaunas, on Žiemgalių street near No. 7, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Chrysler Town & Country and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Chrysler (15 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings, violated overtaking rules, failed to give way when changing direction and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
