On Friday, 27 December 2013, at night at around 3:00, in Šiauliai, on Vasario 16-osios street near No. 51, at a yard or parking-lot exit, an Opel Omega hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 23-year-old pedestrian, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.10‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
