On Tuesday, 7 January 2014, in the morning at 7:30, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on Veterinarų g., an Audi A6 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 46-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Audi (18 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
