On Monday, 13 January 2014, in the morning at 7:40, in Vilnius, on Fabijoniškių street, at the junction with Gelvonų street, a Ford Galaxy hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Ford (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
