On Saturday, 8 February 2014, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kaunas, on Jonavos street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
