On Friday, 17 October 2014, in the morning at 8:30, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 99), a Ford Transit hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Ford (28 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
