On Friday, 14 February 2014, in the afternoon at 11:56, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 24.25), an Audi 80 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober.
