On Friday, 14 February 2014, in the afternoon at 15:28, in Raseinių district municipality, Požečių village, on the Ariogala–Betygala–Šiluva regional road (kilometre 7.08), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525, a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Lupo. Two people were injured — a 75-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen Lupo (severely injured, hospitalized) and the 51-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Lupo (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (2 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.63‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
