On Saturday, 22 February 2014, in the evening at 20:55, in Plungės district municipality, on the Plungė–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 4.40), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel Vectra (3 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. All drivers were sober.
