On Saturday, 8 March 2014, in the morning at 7:20, in Pagėgių municipality, Žukų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 121.65), a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Ford (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.55‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
