On Thursday, 27 March 2014, in the morning at 9:37, in Vilnius, on Tūkstantmečio street, at the junction with Savanorių pr., on a bridge, a DAF FAR XF 105 registered in Latvia hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. Two people were injured — a 55-year-old pedestrian (a citizen of Russia) (hospitalized) and a 27-year-old pedestrian (a citizen of Azerbaijan) (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the DAF (a citizen of Latvia) (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
