On Sunday, 30 March 2014, in the evening at 19:30, in Prienų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 79.54), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Golf (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.74‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
