On Thursday, 1 May 2014, in the afternoon at 14:08, in Tauragės district municipality, Žygaičių town, on Bažnyčios street near No. 7, a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a MTZ Belarus-82. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the MTZ (18 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.93‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
