On Wednesday, 14 May 2014, in the evening at 22:12, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Giedraičiai–Bekupė–Želva regional road (kilometre 14.10), a Ford Escort ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.54‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
