On Friday, 16 May 2014, in the evening at 17:40, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilijampolė–Žeimiai–Šėta national road (kilometre 7), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and an Audi A6 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to comply with road signs or markings, violated overtaking rules and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.52‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
