On Tuesday, 20 May 2014, at night at 23:58, in Tauragės district municipality, on T. Ivanausko street, at the junction with Sodų street, a Renault Espace hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.13‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
