On Saturday, 31 May 2014, in the evening at 21:30, in Ignalinos district municipality, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 98), a Volkswagen Passat rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
