On Monday, 9 June 2014, at night at 0:53, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 106.60), a Mercedes-Benz 212 rolled over. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.88‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
