On Sunday, 15 June 2014, in the morning at 7:48, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Kuršėnai–Smilgiai–Aukštelkė regional road (kilometre 4.85), a Renault Laguna ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene.
