On Sunday, 6 July 2014, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Tauragės district municipality, on Vilniaus g., a Ford Galaxy ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Ford, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.70‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). The Ford had recorded faults (padangų). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
