On Wednesday, 16 July 2014, in the morning at 7:18, in Šiauliai, on Plungės street, at the junction with Sedos street, a Volkswagen Golf hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 63-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed.
