On Saturday, 19 July 2014, at night at 23:15, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 45.33), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406 and a Volkswagen Vento. One person was injured — a 50-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who violated overtaking rules. He was drunk (2.15‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
