On Friday, 18 July 2014, in the evening at 19:40, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 159.54), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a DAF FAR 95.430, an Isuzu Turquoise and an Audi 90. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the DAF (35 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
