On Friday, 29 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 17), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF FT 95XF.420, a Krone SDP27 registered in Latvia, a Scania R420 registered in Latvia and a Schmitz Cargobull S.CS24-13.62. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the DAF (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
