On Saturday, 9 June 2018, in the evening at 20:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 14.91), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, a Yamaha and a Ford S-MAX. Two people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Yamaha (treated as an outpatient) and a 27-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
