On Saturday, 6 September 2014, in the afternoon at 11:45, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 36.08), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo 440 and a Mercedes-Benz E200. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.24‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
