Hit-and-run Schmitz driver in crash with two other cars on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Sunday, 5 October 2014, in the afternoon at 14:15, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 38), a collision occurred. The collision involved a Schmitz SCS 24/L, a Volvo V40 and a Volvo FH12.420. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Schmitz (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
