On Tuesday, 11 November 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 6), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz S 320 CDI and a Mazda CX-7 registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
