On Wednesday, 26 November 2014, in the morning at 8:30, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 32.26), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 520I and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (0.62‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
