On Friday, 12 December 2014, at night at 23:39, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Minskas main road (kilometre 27), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Renault Magnum 500.19 registered in Russia, a Koegel registered in Russia, an Iveco 440E42 registered in Ukraine and a Schmitz SPR 24 registered in Ukraine. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Renault (a citizen of Belarus) (8 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, there was freezing rain, the road surface was contaminated. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
