On Wednesday, 24 December 2014, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Pramonės pr., a Mitsubishi Colt hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 23-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (10 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
