On Wednesday, 7 January 2015, in the evening at 17:15, in Kauno district municipality, on Vytauto street, at the junction with Aukštoji street, a Ford Mondeo hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 31-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway in a built-up area outside a crossing where there is a median strip. He was drunk (1.20‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
