On Saturday, 17 January 2015, in the evening at 21:20, in Vilnius, on Švitrigailos street, at the junction with Panerių street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-3 and a Toyota Carina. Two people were injured — a 21-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient) and a 52-year-old passenger of the Toyota (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Saab (11 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
