On Wednesday, 21 January 2015, in the evening at 18:28, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 53.95), a Citroen Xsara Picasso registered in Great Britain rolled over. One person was injured — the 31-year-old driver of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Citroen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.94‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
