On Monday, 26 January 2015, at night at 0:08, in Šilutės district municipality, Bružų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 193), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an UAZ 330301 and an Audi A6 Avant. Three people were injured — the 44-year-old driver of the UAZ (hospitalized), the 26-year-old driver of the Audi (hospitalized) and a 23-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the UAZ, who committed other traffic rule violations and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
