On Sunday, 15 February 2015, in the afternoon at 14:09, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 43.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega and a Toyota Land Cruiser. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
