On Friday, 20 February 2015, in the afternoon at 12:12, in Plungės district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 97.18), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra and a Peugeot 306. One person died — a 51-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (later died from the injuries). Two people were injured — the 46-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 2-year-old passenger of the Peugeot (hospitalized). Both drivers were sober.
