On Wednesday, 18 March 2015, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Šiaurės pr., a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 D and a Nissan Primera. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the BMW (7 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
