On Sunday, 29 March 2015, in the evening at 22:08, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street, at the junction with Dujotiekio street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra and a Volkswagen Golf. One person was injured — a 22-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel (4 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
