On Wednesday, 1 April 2015, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kauno city municipality, on Šv. Gertrūdos street, at the junction with Mapu street, a Mercedes-Benz A140 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 88-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (12 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
