On Wednesday, 15 April 2015, in the afternoon at 12:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 17.10), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volvo registered in Poland and a Peugeot Partner. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Volvo (a citizen of Poland) (3 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
