On Wednesday, 29 April 2015, in the morning at around 8:00, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 55), a Renault Megane ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Renault (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
