On Monday, 30 August 2021, in the evening at 21:15, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 56.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf, a Volvo FH and a Schmitz SCS 24. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
