On Saturday, 2 May 2015, at night at 2:11, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Žemaičių Naumiestis–Teneniai–Pajūralis regional road (kilometre 1.52), an Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — the 34-year-old driver of the Alfa Romeo (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 33-year-old passenger of the Alfa Romeo (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Alfa Romeo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
