On Tuesday, 5 May 2015, in the evening at 19:01, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius-Švenčionys-Zarasai national road (kilometre 22.50), a Honda Civic rolled over. One person was injured — a 14-year-old passenger of the Honda (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Honda, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
