On Friday, 15 May 2015, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Šiauliai, on Vytauto street, at the junction with P. Višinskio street, an Opel Omega hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Opel (13 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
