On Monday, 11 May 2015, in the afternoon at 14:28, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 57.20), a Volkswagen Sharan rolled over. Two people were injured — a 22-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 36-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.58‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
